The Cabinet of Ministers supported the bill of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation on extending family mortgages until 2030. This was reported by TASS on April 22, citing a source close to the government commission on legislative activity.
“The government Commission on Legislative Activity has supported this bill,” the news agency quotes its source.
TASS clarifies that, according to the explanatory note, additional expenditures from the federal budget for 2024-2026 will be required for the implementation of this bill. The total amount is 647.59 billion rubles.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke in favor of extending the preferential family mortgage at 6%. He also stressed that the issue is “not about money”, but about transparency of operations.
After the statement of the head of state, Deputy Finance Minister of Russia Ivan Chebeskov noted that the program of preferential family mortgages will be extended, but it requires transformation so that this mortgage helps directly “those whom it is aimed at.”
