The Norwegian authorities have decided to ban Russian tourists from entering the country, a message about this appeared on the official website of the government of this state.
The statement says that citizens of our country will be denied entry to Norway through the external border if they travel “for tourist and other purposes of non-priority importance.” Moreover, this rule applies even to those tourists to whom Norway has previously issued a visa, as well as to travelers with visas from other Schengen states. Russians are prohibited from crossing any of the country’s borders, regardless of whether they want to enter from Russia “by land” or fly from any third country. Exceptions can be made for several groups of our compatriots: for those who have decided to visit close relatives (parents, officially registered spouses, de facto spouses and children) or come to Norway to work or study.
Recall that Norway was the only European country that still has a land border with Russia open to tourists.
