Nordwind Airlines will operate direct scheduled flights from Makhachkala to Saransk. The first flight from the capital of the Republic of Dagestan to the main city of the Republic of Mordovia will take place on May 5, 2024. The flights will be operated jointly with the Icarus air carrier. Thanks to this new route, residents of the northern region of Russia will be able to go on summer holidays to the shores of the Caspian Sea in such resort cities as Izberbash, Manas, Kaspiysk and the ancient Derbent, which is under UNESCO protection.
Flights are scheduled once a week – on Sundays. The airliner will depart from Makhachkala Airport at 05:40 a.m. local time and land in Saransk at 08:15 a.m. The flight from Saransk will be operated at 09:35 a.m., arrival in Dagestan at 11:55 a.m. In total, passengers will spend about 2 hours and 30 minutes in the air.
