Blacklist of artists 2024: who was banned from performing in Russia
When figuring out which of the artists are blacklisted, it is worth immediately understanding that there is no official ban on concerts for them.
We offer you a list of banned artists based on the latest news:
- Maxim Leonidov. The former member of the beat quartet “Secret” was included in the list of banned celebrities in July 2022. First, the musician, who left the country, announced concerts planned in Russia. And then his director announced their cancellation.
- Yuri Shevchuk. The leader of the DDT group was blacklisted as an artist in 2024, but this does not prevent him from continuing to perform. The artist, according to him, sends the royalties received to help refugees. Shevchuk is not going to leave Russia.
- The BI-2 group. Its participants, Egor Bortnik (Leva) and Alexander Uman (Shura) have Israeli and Australian citizenship. But since the beginning of the SVO on February 24, 2022, their concert activities in the Russian Federation have not been stopped. Moreover, having joined the blacklist of Russian artists undesirable for performing at mass events, they managed to play at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg at the Super Cup match between FC Zenit and Spartak in July 2022.
- The Aquarium group. Its leader, Boris Grebenshchikov, has long been in the ranks of people opposed to the Russian government. However, a rocker living in Israel has not had to dream of large halls for a long time. But he travels quite actively, poses for paparazzi photos with pleasure, and arranges concerts on the streets to raise funds in favor of Ukraine.
- Andrey Makarevich. The leader of the Time Machine group, despite emigrating to Israel, planned to continue giving concerts in Russia in 2022. But his announced performances were canceled. Obviously, the band won’t have to plan a tour here for a long time.
- Noize MC. Since February 2022, the Russian rap artist has made repeated harsh statements about the actions of the Russian authorities. Now Ivan Alekseev lives in the Baltic States, where he plans further touring activities.
- Oxxxymiron (Miron Fedorov). One of the most famous Russian rap artists has also lost his earnings since the beginning of his career. The British-born artist is currently giving charity concerts in favor of Ukraine.
- The Caste group. The cult rap group of the 90s of the XX century is no longer active in concert. The “Caste” came under an unspoken ban during the Belarusian protests of 2020. That did not prevent the band from playing a show in the capital’s Glavclub in honor of the 20th anniversary of the release of two of its albums at once.
- The “Accident” group. Alexey Kortnev, her permanent soloist, repeatedly posted rather strange videos on his social networks in March 2022. At the same time, he continued to play in the theater, and did not leave Russia. His wife, Amina Zaripova, a member of the coaching staff of the Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team, also has no plans to change the country. But it seems that Kortnev will have to forget about concert venues for a long time.
- Zemfira. The singer left Russia back in February 2022. From that moment on, she did not give concerts in Russia. Most likely on their own initiative. Now Zemfira, who lives in Paris, is more often a guest of fashion shows, and clearly does not miss her former popularity.
- Dmitry “Sid” Spirin. The ex-leader of the punk band “Tarakany” has become a real persona non grata at Russian concert venues. However, Spirin himself has long preferred provocative statements and outrageous actions to active touring.
- Valery Meladze. Although the artist did not allow himself harsh statements, he still remained without concert activities. Meladze himself announced that he was ready to return to the profession of a hydrological engineer. However, his wife, Albina Dzhanabayeva, her husband’s blacklisting of celebrities in the Russian Federation does not prevent her from continuing to play in the theater and filming in a TV show.
- Konstantin Meladze and Vera Brezhnev. The couple left for Spain at the beginning of their marriage, where they have a house. Their official performances in Russia are under an unspoken ban. But the producer and the artist do not mind coming to a private party at a rate of 30,000 euros.
- The Little Big band.Since February 2022, Ilya Prusikin and his team have been on pause, avoiding public comments. And then, in June, they announced emigration to the United States, and released a provocative clip with an unambiguous indication of their position. There is no question of the musicians returning to Russia or resuming concert activities.
- The Anacondaz group. The team was initially famous for its oppositional attitude. But despite being blacklisted, Anacondaz has scheduled concerts on its schedule for 2022. In July – in Voronezh and Rostov-on-Don, in Perm and Yekaterinburg, in Moscow. And in September, the musicians promise to release a new album. Obviously, the band has no problems with concert bans.
- Anna Netrebko. The artist, who has been living in Austria for a long time, first lost many Western contracts, and then lost her job in Russia, disowning her status as a Russian vocalist. Now she is working a little in Europe, but her husband, Yusif Eyvazov, also an opera singer, is planning a tour in Russia. Time will tell if they will take place.
