Israel will introduce electronic entry permits for citizens of countries with which this country has a visa-free regime, Interfax reports, citing the local Ministry of Tourism. It is planned to introduce an electronic visa for travelers from other countries with which a visa regime has been established. The preliminary date when the new system will start working is June 1, 2024.
Recall that Russia is among the countries with which Israel has a visa-free regime, that is, now Russians can come to the country without prior notice. After the introduction of the new rules, our citizens will have to request an electronic entry permit via the Internet in advance – Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), which will be valid for two years. You will need to attach a copy of your passport, air tickets to and from Israel, travel medical insurance and details about the route of your trip to the application with a request to enter the country. Their parents will be able to apply for Russian minors. It will take no more than 48 hours to obtain an entry permit. The issuance of documents will be paid and will cost the traveler 25 shekels (approximately 600 rubles). You need to print out the finished permit: you will be able to cross the border through electronic terminals without communicating with the Israeli border service.
At the same time, the Ministry of Tourism emphasizes that ETA is not a visa and its introduction does not contradict the visa-free regime agreement between Israel and Russia.
