In the Moscow region, the first floors in new buildings were banned from being used as residential premises

In the Moscow region, the first floors in new buildings were banned from being used as residential premises — an innovation by the authorities applies to all apartment buildings over four floors.

“100% of the first floors must be provided within the framework of the planned development for the placement of non—residential facilities,” TASS quotes the decree of the government of the Moscow region.

Also, the authorities of the Moscow region have updated the standards for the organization of parking lots (the number of parking spaces should now be 90% of the level of motorization of the local population and at least 18% of parking spaces are allocated for temporary storage) and new standards for landscaping yards (playgrounds should be moved away from houses up to 100 meters, and sports — up to 500 meters).

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin signed a decree that sets the minimum area of apartments. It is now prohibited to build housing with an area less than the specified norms in the capital.
