It is difficult to convey the emotions of visiting the castle grounds, it really feels like you are entering a fantasy medieval kingdom. Everything looks very impressive and beautiful, so I can definitely say that Garibaldi Castle is one of the wonders of the world, at least in Russia.

We went to the Garibaldi Castle on Tuesday, there were few visitors. A lot of people come here on weekends and holidays. Keep this in mind when planning your trip.
The history of Garibaldi Castle
I learned the history of Garibaldi Castle from the guide’s stories and the Internet.
The construction of the castle complex in the village of Khryashchevka began in 2006 with the money of local businessman Oleg Kuzichkin. The place was not chosen by chance — this is the native village of the businessman’s wife.
The Garibaldi Castle was built in three years in the Neo-Gothic style. It is not someone’s exact copy, but combines elements of European medieval architecture, Renaissance and Victorianism. Parts of the building have been artificially aged using special restoration technologies.
There are also Russian motifs in the Garibaldi castle: one of the bas-reliefs repeats the drawing of a Griffin on a copper plate of the Suzdal church gates of the 1220s. The other depicts a mythical character, similar to the image from a silver bracelet of the same time found in Old Ryazan.
The Legend of Garibaldi Castle:
A long time ago, a world of unforgettable historical magic and fantasy was born. Located in the small village of Hryashchevka, Garibaldi Castle is a testament and a true masterpiece of family honor. This vast medieval fortress, named after the father of its creator, is a tribute to the heart that now belongs to you. The soaring spires of the castle, elegant towers and majestic walls, where each stone is made by hand, bear the memory of its creator. Built in the early 21st century, this luxurious castle evokes the magic and mystery of medieval fortresses in 13th century Europe and beyond. Take a piece of tradition with you as you embark on a magnificent journey through time. Discover a land of magic that celebrates the magic of ancient history and immerses you in the dreamy and romantic world of the Renaissance, when the legends of the past come to life. The beauty and grandeur of Garibaldi Castle will capture your heart and leave you in wonder.
A group of architects, artists and sculptors worked on the project of the Garibaldi castle complex. The chief architect is Valery Seglin, a member of the Union of Architects of Russia. It is not known how much money was invested in the construction of the Garibaldi Castle, but it can be assumed that a lot. Construction work and investments are ongoing.
The Garibaldi tourist complex consists of several buildings surrounded by 6 hectares of land. The picturesque park, reminiscent of Versailles, has walking areas with gravel paths, flower beds and benches. The fountain overlooking the castle is a popular location for photo shoots. Unfortunately, it was closed on Tuesday for preventive maintenance.
There are large bronze sculptures on the castle grounds: the King and Queen, the Scandinavian warrior Beowulf, the knights of the Round Table — Perceval and Galahad. The St. Petersburg sculptor Viktor Shuvalov worked on their creation.
Along the perimeter of the park there are monumental lanterns made of cast iron and bronze with a height of 6.5 meters and pedestals with griffins. Gargoyles look at visitors from the walls of the castle, six dragons guard the wing, and other sculptures are on the balcony. You can look at the details for a very long time: bas-reliefs, coats of arms, forged grilles.
There is a Curri Wurst summer cafe and a gift shop on the castle grounds. You can ride in a carriage drawn by black horses or on horseback, mint a coin as a keepsake.
An alley leading from Garibaldi Castle to the Volga River is being completed, from where a panorama of the Zhiguli Sea opens. There will be a beach with a recreation area.

What’s inside Garibaldi’s Castle?
Initially, it was planned to open a luxury hotel in the Garibaldi Castle, but this project has not yet been implemented. The interior is being renovated and is closed for excursions.
On the ground floor of the Garibaldi castle there is a hall with a reception area of the future hotel, a gloomy gallery connected by a wooden bridge with a moat filled with water, a grotto, a winter garden and a restaurant reminiscent of the times of the Round Table of King Arthur.
A stone staircase leads to the entertainment area. There is a “Sunken Ship” hall with a swimming pool, bowling and billiards rooms. Pirate treasures are hidden under the glass floor. Another aquarium is mounted in a glass wall.
It is not known when the Garibaldi Castle hotel will open. Judging by the information on the Internet, it is still possible to get inside. Photo sessions with the official photographer of the castle Garibaldi are held in the interiors of the castle and on the inner castle grounds.
You can take photos in the open castle grounds for free and without any permits. Garibaldi Castle is very popular with young people, most wedding photo shoots take place on Fridays.
If you want to capture yourself against the background of the castle, bring beautiful outfits with you. You can change clothes in the toilet, which is also free and very clean. There was a girl in our group in a long red dress, the pictures turned out to be spectacular.
Who is the master of Garibaldi Castle?
Garibaldi Castle in the Samara region belongs to businessman Oleg Garibaldievich Kuzichkin. He named the castle after his father, Garibaldi Arkadyevich. The Kuzichkins have nothing to do with the Italian politician Giuseppe Garibaldi.
Oleg Kuzichkin is not a public person, he does not give interviews, but you can judge him by his deeds. The locals, including our guide, speak extremely well of the owner of Garibaldi Castle.
Kuzichkin owns the Quality Factory company in Tolyatti, which produces sausage products, therefore he is called the “sausage king”. The products are popular and probably generate good income. The businessman has been living abroad for a long time, but invests the money earned in Russia at home.
Oleg Garibaldievich used his own funds to build a temple in honor of St. George in the village of Khryashchevka, restored the House of Culture, equipped a hospital, a gym, and is building a stadium. A Quality Factory Shopping center has been built at the entrance to the village of Khryashchevka.
Garibaldi Castle is an unusual landmark of the Samara region. It is better to see this large-scale creation with your own eyes. Walking around Tolyatti Castle, I forgot that I was in the Russian countryside on the outskirts of the village. Come, the “wow effect” is guaranteed!
