A British travel blogger rode a train through North Korea and was surprised by the amount of alcohol on board. He shared his impressions with the Daily Mail.

Anthony Middleton, a 40-year-old traveler, arrived in the capital of the DPRK on the Pyongyang Express from China and described the trip with the phrase “alternative reality”. The Briton said that on the way his phone was checked for the presence of opposition materials. He deliberately deleted all the provocative photos in advance, but in the end, the examination took only a few seconds.

Middleton said that the train had clean carriages, hot water taps for tea and a restaurant car where you could buy North Korean products. According to the tourist, the food there was not as tasty as in the West. The Briton was surprised that beer and soju (Korean vodka) were regularly served on the train, which made the trip “very drunk”.

“It was constantly cold and, as expected, a little rough. But I managed to see the countryside of North Korea,” Middleton added.

Earlier, Russians were offered to relax at the beach resorts of North Korea. Summer tours lasting from 8 to 12 days have already been developed for travelers.
