It’s not just famous European brands that are being forged in China. The Chinese press tells a shocking story: A fake museum of one of the wonders of the world has appeared in China, and a ticket to it costs more than to the original museum.
We are talking about the famous terracotta Army Museum in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, which opened in 1979 and gained worldwide fame — it is almost also known as the Great Wall. It was visited by almost 150 million tourists. But it seems that the fame of the museum has a downside.
This was confirmed by a young man, a high school student, known only as Xiaozeng. After graduating from college, he wanted to visit this famous museum. But a local taxi driver brought him to a place called “Dreaming Back of Qin Dynasty”.
According to media reports, the driver assured the student that it was a museum. However, he stated that visitors are allowed to take pictures with the statues and even touch them. Of course, you can’t do that in the original museum: the exhibits are displayed either in showcases or far enough away from the trajectory of tourists’ movement.
The young man suspected that he had been deceived, but there was nowhere to go. Then he also found out that he had overpaid for the fake. A visit to the “fake” museum cost 98 yuan (about 1200 rubles), the original asks only 60 yuan (700 rubles) from visitors.
According to the press, this is not the first such case. The previous fake museum, which exhibited about 40 “identical to natural” statues of terracotta warriors, was dispersed in 2017 according to complaints from tourists.
