The Turkish authorities have decided to change the all-inclusive format favored by Russians. The reason is the large amount of food waste that remains in hotels after serving tourists. To combat such waste, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic will create a special roadmap, which will describe the transformation of all inclusive.
According to Turkish officials, more than 18 million tons of products are thrown out in the country every year. At the same time, the third part is accounted for by hotels and restaurants. According to statistics, after each tourist, 200 to 400 g of food remains per day, which is then disposed of. And in 12 months, food waste in hotels turns into 1.5 billion dollars of senseless costs.
The Ministry of Agriculture is preparing total innovations for hotels, which should rebuild the all inclusive food system. In particular, it is planned to draw up instructions on changing the menu for tourists, teach chefs how to correctly calculate the necessary food supplies.
The staff will also be advised to minimize the number of decorations from the buffet products (for example, dragons from watermelons or swans from melons). Another measure is to reduce the volume of plates served to vacationers.
As a result, the ministry will prepare a whole roadmap that should radically transform the all-inclusive so that after the buffet in the hotels there is not too much waste. Tourists themselves will be taught to relax in a new way. A program will be developed for them – “responsible tourism”. But how it will be implemented is not yet specified.
Earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Tourism announced plans to change the usual all inclusive. The department, for example, is thinking about switching hotels to half-board. For example, tourists in the evenings will be taken from hotels to the city center for walks and excursions, and then taken to restaurants or cafes. Thus, not only hotels will benefit, but also shops and catering establishments.
