Thailand plans to launch an electronic entry permit system for tourists (ETA) from 2025.

According to ATOR, ETA will be available in testing mode by December 2024, and the system can be fully deployed by June 2025. ETA will be mandatory for all foreign citizens who arrive in the country under the visa-free regime.
To receive the document, you will need to submit an application on the e-visa portal. It is clarified that an ETA will be required every time you enter Thailand. At first, the document can be issued free of charge.
Also, tourists with ETA will be able to use automatic gates at immigration checkpoints through a QR code.
