The Italian Visa Application Center has warned that the maximum period for reviewing documents applying for a visa can reach 60 days, information about this appeared on the VMS website.
The message says that the visa application center requests “to submit an appropriate set of documents with a significant time margin relative to the expected date of travel. Currently, the processing time for visa applications can often be up to 60 days from the date of application.” People who have recently received Italian Schengen visas also confirm that the documents are considered for a very long time. At the same time, Russians began to apply for Schengen visas more often: the demand for business and tourist permits to enter the Schengen countries in the period from January to August 2024 increased by 51 percent compared to the same period last year, the Kommersant newspaper writes, citing data from the Continent Express company.
Recall that VMS is the official partner of the Italian Consulate. The offices of this company accept packages of documents for those wishing to obtain an entry permit and issue passports with ready-made visas.
