50% of the revenue from the increased duty on wine from unfriendly countries will go to the development of domestic tourism. The advising instruction was given by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“To the government of the Russian Federation: ensure that at least half of the revenues received from the increase in customs duties on imported wine originating from unfriendly foreign countries are allocated for additional financing of activities provided for by the national Tourism and Hospitality project,” the Kremlin said in a statement on its website.
It also clarifies that the deadline for the execution of the order is until November 1, 2024.
