MTS Travel services and Bronevik.com we found out where the Russians will go to rest with their children on the upcoming holidays from March 25 to March 31. Moscow has become the leader among the destinations – the popularity of the capital’s hotels among travelers with children has grown by 70% year on year.
In the whole country, the demand for accommodation with children in hotels and other facilities during the school holidays increased by 27% year on year. In addition to Moscow, Kazan and St. Petersburg are among the top three in terms of the number of bookings. In total, these three cities account for more than a third of all bookings for spring holidays, the share of Moscow is 22%, St. Petersburg and Kazan – 6% of all bookings in the country.
Novosibirsk has strengthened its position in the ranking among the most popular destinations (in terms of the number of bookings) (rose from eighth to seventh place). Tyumen, Kaluga and Sochi, which were not in the TOP 10 last year, occupy the eighth, ninth and tenth positions.
The average Russian check for accommodation during the holidays amounted to 6,700 rubles per day. Tyumen turned out to be the most budget–friendly among the popular tourist cities – the average cost per night was 3,500 rubles. Novosibirsk took the second place in terms of the profitability of accommodation — on average, travelers paid 3,600 rubles per day for accommodation there. St. Petersburg closes the top three destinations with the lowest check – there it is 4,500 rubles per night. On average, Russians booked accommodation for 3 nights and did so more than a month before the trip (35 days in advance).
