Nine of the 14 carriages of the Vorkuta — Novorossiysk train No. 511 derailed in the Komi Republic.
There were 232 people on the train at the time of the accident. About 70 passengers were injured, about ten of them are in serious condition with serious injuries.
According to emergency services, the accident on the Inta-1 — Ugolny section of the Northern Railway could have occurred due to the washing of tracks after prolonged rains. Train traffic on the section has been suspended.
With the help of a recovery train, passengers are evacuated to Intu, where two temporary accommodation facilities have already been deployed.
Two Mi-8 MTV ambulance helicopters took off from Usinsk, two more boards are expected from Syktyvkar and Ukhta. Intensive care teams and emergency medical doctors are flying to the site: surgeons, traumatologists, resuscitators.
