This morning, on August 25, nothing foreshadowed bad weather in Kemer, Turkey. However, in the afternoon, vacationers on the beach had to literally catch their belongings scattered by powerful gusts of wind.
For two hours, the resort village was at the mercy of the elements. There was a heavy downpour. Numerous photos and videos are published in Turkish public social networks: streams of water flooded the streets, trees were felled by a hurricane on the roads.
As she told the portal TourDom.ru Maria Sheker, a travel agent living in Antalya, such weather phenomena are not uncommon on the Antalya coast at the end of summer. Hurricanes come from the sea after the intense heat subsides, and now is just such a period. Last week, the air temperature exceeded 42 degrees on some days, and this weekend it dropped to 33-36. According to Maria, Antalya was not affected by the hurricane, there was not even precipitation, but it rained in neighboring Alanya and Mersin yesterday.
According to Gismeteo’s forecast, comfortable weather is expected on the Antalya coast of Turkey in the coming week. The velvet season is coming. The air will warm up to 30-31 degrees during the day and 24-25 degrees at night. Rains are unlikely in Antalya, but in Kemer, which is adjacent to the mountains, they will be, but short-term.
Earlier we wrote that yesterday, on August 24, due to unfavorable conditions in Sochi, twenty planes flying to the resort had to leave for alternate airfields in other cities of southern Russia.
