Turkish Airlines has simplified the conditions for Russians to fly to South America

Авиакомпания Turkish Airlines упростила условия полетов россиян в Южную Америку

After a series of scandals related to the non-admission of passengers, but mostly Russians, on flights to South America, Turkish Airlines has slightly reduced the list of justifications for refusing to board a plane.

As the telegram channel “Roof of the Tourist House” has already told, since the end of February, dozens of passengers with Russian passports and purchased tickets have not been able to fly Turkish Airlines flights from Istanbul to Latin American countries. The largest number of complaints concerned cases when Russians flying to Sao Paulo in Brazil and Buenos Aires in Argentina were turned away.

There were many reasons why the employees of Turkisha refused to board, from the lack of a return ticket, fully paid hotel accommodation, the presence of a “clean” passport to the absence of luggage. The latter was most outraged by the failed passengers, since it is difficult to understand the logic of “no suitcase– no flight”.

Last Sunday, it became known that Turkish Airlines has somewhat shortened the list of reasons why travelers may be denied a flight from Istanbul airport to Venezuela, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil and Cuba.

In particular, the point has been removed that passengers who fly to South America for a long time without luggage may not be allowed on the flight. Also, in the updated rules, the mention of a “clean” passport and documents confirming the stated purpose of the trip disappeared.

However, in order to fly, for example, to Brazil, a person must have a return ticket in both directions, a hotel reservation for the duration of the entire trip, and transit flights are limited to 24 hours. It is emphasized that the right to board the liner may be denied to travelers “who do not have enough cash or a valid credit card for the duration of their stay.”

However, the Turks packed the flight refusal at the last minute into a streamlined phrase that passengers “may encounter problems at the boarding gate for the appropriate flight.”
