According to Interfax, the ski season in the mountains of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts of Russia will last longer than usual – until the end of the first decade of April. This was stated by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand.
“Usually at the end of March (the ski season ends). But this year there was a lot of snow in winter, so the ski season will last in the first decade of April, until the end of the first decade. Even in Sochi,” Vilfand said.
At the same time, he warned that on March 20 and 21, increased avalanche danger will remain in the Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts.
