In the first half of 2024, Turkey became the most popular foreign holiday destination for Russians. This was stated in The border service of the FSB of the Russian Federation.
In total, almost 1.76 million Russian citizens went to Turkey for tourism in the first six months. This is 6% more than in the first six months of 2023.
The tour operator Coral Travel named the most popular resorts in Turkey. Kemer is in the first place, where 27.5% of Russians rested, Alanya is in second place with 23.1%, and Side is in third (17.7%).
Belek (12.9%) and Dalaman (7.8%) complete the top five, and in The TOP 10 also included Bodrum (3.9%), Izmir (3.7%) and Antalya (3.1%). The rest of the country’s resorts account for only 0.5% of the Russian tourist flow.
The high popularity of Kemer in Coral Travel was explained by the wonderful climate, picturesque nature, clean sea, the presence of various kinds of entertainment and attractions, as well as the proximity of the airport.
