ATOR reports that the icebreaker Lenin will return to tourists at the end of September. This famous tourist site in Murmansk will soon be reopened to the public after a planned renovation.
The vessel is repaired once every 10 years, and on August 14, the icebreaker was towed to a specially equipped floating dock. More than 100 people are engaged in its repair, and now the main part of the work has already been completed. The painting of the ship’s hull was completed, which required 10 tons of paint and varnish materials.
The resumption of excursions, according to the Atomflot website, is planned from September 26.
The icebreaker Lenin is one of the most popular tourist sites in the Murmansk Region: 60,000 people visited it in 2022, and 79,000 in 2023.
