For 9 hours, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been trying to cope with a forest fire near Novorossiysk. The first reports of flames in the Abrau-Durso area began to appear around noon. However, it is not possible to localize the fire due to strong winds. By 20:00 Moscow time, the area engulfed in fire had increased to 51 hectares – by the time the emergency was discovered, it was about 1 hectare.
By late evening, the flames had spread to the territory of several recreation centers at once: “Sailor”, “Romantic”, “Frigate”, “Builder”. People were evacuated from there in advance. This is about 296 vacationers, including 64 children. During the day, more than 500 people were taken out of the danger zone.
