A completely renovated hotel with a recognizable name in the hospitality industry pays tribute to its own heritage, while setting new standards of service and design, which in the future will become the values of the entire Dusit hotel chain around the world. And the panoramic view of Lumpini Park from each room is just one of the details designed to attract tourists.
Dusit International, one of Thailand’s leading hoteliers, has confirmed that the opening of the flagship Dusit Thani Bangkok hotel is scheduled for September 27, 2024, marking an exciting new chapter in the company’s development in the kingdom and beyond.
Renovated from scratch as part of the large-scale multifunctional Dusit Central Park complex, Dusit Thani Bangkok Hotel pays tribute to the 50-year heritage of the chain and sets new standards for luxury hospitality. Designed for discerning travelers, the hotel plans to make history again by setting updated standards of service and design.
Dusit Thani Bangkok is located in the same prestigious location as its predecessor: it boasts a unique feature — from the windows of all rooms you can see Lumpini Park.
The hotel’s painstaking approach to reconstruction was noted by the media in Bangkok the day before. Supaji Suthumpun, CEO of Dusit International Group, emphasized the company’s desire to combine modern trends with timeless traditions peculiar to Dusit Thani Bangkok, which was the tallest building in the city when it first opened in 1970.
“For more than five decades, Dusit Thani Bangkok has been a favorite attraction and a true symbol of Thai hospitality for travelers from all over the world,” says Ms. Suthumpun. “When we started to rethink its concept, we were determined to preserve its legacy, while exceeding the wildest expectations of modern sophisticated guests. We managed to preserve the design elements of the former hotel and seamlessly integrate them into the modern design. Throughout this process, we have remained true to the desire of Dusit founder Tanpuying Chanut Piyaui and the owner of the hotel, Mr. Chanin Donavanik, to broadcast modern Thai culture, art and a high-class level of service in such a way that they resonate with modern travelers and can adapt to the constantly changing preferences of guests. Sustainable development remains one of Dusit’s key priorities — and this is also reflected in the design and services provided by the new hotel.”
As Natapa Sriyuksiri, managing director of Dusit Estate, says, the original Dusit Thani Bangkok had its own soul: “Our goal was to bring it into a modern space that has a great future ahead. Each of the design elements of the new hotel was created by rethinking the characteristic interiors through a modern prism.”
The authors of the new hotel project were Architects 49 International Limited and OMA Asia Hong Kong Limited, a division of the General Directorate of Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), known for its innovative approach to the construction of buildings. The design bureau André Fu Studio was responsible for the development of exquisite interiors, which combined the classic design of the first hotel with modern Thai aesthetics. There was also an emphasis on warm shades and traditional motifs. The Heritage Floor, a floor decorated with the work of local artists, deserves special mention.
The naked eye can see the impressive work with references to the original design of Dusit Thani Bangkok: the famous golden spire of the hotel is back in place — but this time it has become three times higher. The walls of the Benjarong Restaurant are decorated with paintings and murals that were preserved during the dismantling of the building, and its teak ceiling has also been carefully restored.
The interiors are decorated according to the principles of Feng Shui: returning to the design of the rooms, each of them has a bay window framed in golden tones. By the way, before the hotel had 517 rooms, but as it is clear from the statement of the management, their number has almost halved. The area of each room is from 50 square meters and above.
The hotel boasts a wellness center, which has everything for relaxation and relaxation. Those who stopped in Bangok for negotiations should definitely know about the 5,000 square meter space for meetings and business communication.
The four key pillars of the hotel after the relaunch will be Service, Location, the Well-being of each guest and Sustainable Development.
