We traditionally treat the Soviet automobile industry as an inevitable evil. Soviet cars are not yet completely extinct dinosaurs, passing by which they shyly lower their eyes or smile bitterly on the street. But imagine that there are places in the world where the well-known UAZ “Loaf” can make a person happy. No, not in distant Cuba, not in The DPRK is not in Zimbabwe, but in the quite prosperous Netherlands.

The Dutch suddenly turned out to be connoisseurs of “loaves”. Moreover, they are interested in these awkward minibuses not as collectibles, but as vehicles. Moreover, European UAZ fans use these cars for travel, equipping them like real campers.

There are quite a lot of connoisseurs of “loaves” in the Netherlands. They even organized the UAZ Bukhanka Aanmodderaars automobile club. It translates literally as “UAZ-loaf tramps”. At first, fans of Soviet cars simply went out into nature in their “houses”. But then they got used to it and something unimaginable began.

Everyone knows that the “loaf” has a million flaws that no one has wanted to eliminate. But this unsightly car has two advantages, which, in the opinion of many, negate all the disadvantages. This is an incredible passability and unpretentiousness in maintenance and repair.

Fans of extreme sports from the club “Loaf tramps” decided that it was a sin not to use such luxury. They began to go on long-distance trips in their converted UAZs. It seems that these men and women are competing to see how far into the wilds of the planet you can drive your car.

On the club’s website, you can see that enthusiasts travel on “loaves” all over Europe, across Russia all the way to Magadan, across the steppes of Mongolia and the mountains of Tibet. Some desperate motorists even managed to cross the Sahara Desert in their car! We have selected the most interesting photos from the official resource of the club and its Instagram, so that you can also feel this “loaf” madness!
