“Let’s burn everything down”: activists attacked a Spanish staircase in Rome

According to the Associated Press, on June 26, activists of the “Let’s Burn Everything” femdom movement attacked a Spanish staircase in the center of Rome (Italy), they doused the landmark with red paint.

Bruciamo Tutto activists said they were protesting against violence against women in this way. The steps of the famous staircase were filled with red paint, red palm prints were also left on them and leaflets with the names of women who were abused this year were scattered.

The municipal services of Rome promptly washed the paint off the steps, the police detained the activists. It is clarified that the monument was not permanently damaged.

The Spanish Steps are one of Rome’s most popular tourist attractions.
