In Thailand, an insurance company is a kind of seller. Usually, when buying a hot tour, insurance is initially included in the total cost. An important element of insurance is the Assistance company, which will actually send you to Thailand for treatment. Please note that the insurance is activated approximately five days after the conclusion of the contract with the company. When you receive insurance, always find out who the Assistance company is. We recommend that you read the reviews of other clients of the company before entering into a contract. In general, insurance for Thailand is inexpensive. The cost of it for eight days will be approximately seven dollars.
Another important point: if you plan to buy insurance already in Thailand, you will have to leave the country and enter back to activate it. Many people do not take this point into account, and when they get to the hospital, the insurance turns out to be invalid.
There are also a number of features that need to be considered. The insurance will not be valid if you were intoxicated (narcotic or alcoholic) at the time of injury. Insurance will also not cover the cost of treating sexually transmitted diseases. This is also spelled out in the contract. Any consequences of alcohol or other substances will also have to be treated at your own expense. Insurance in Thailand is not a prerequisite for your stay, but it definitely will not be superfluous. Before going to the hospital, you should definitely call the insurance company at the number indicated in the policy and explain what happened to you. Then wait for a callback from the company, which will tell you which hospital you should go to. You need to have a passport and an insurance policy with you. The policy can be printed on a regular printer or photographed on a phone (in some clinics they ask you to send it by e-mail if there is no printed one) — the main thing is that the policy number and full name are visible.
