UAE utilities are eliminating the consequences of flooding caused by the heaviest downpours in the last 75 years. One person died as a result of the flood.
Dubai was the hardest hit by the floods: There, the lower floors of residential buildings and office buildings were damaged, trees were felled, and the facades of some structures collapsed. Some of the highways are still flooded, which has led to a traffic collapse.
A difficult situation was observed at Dubai airports: Hundreds of flights were cancelled, delayed or diverted to other airlines. At the same time, Dubai Airport, one of the largest in the world, began to gradually restore operations on Wednesday.
Neighboring Oman was also affected by flooding: 18 people died there. Bad weather affected Qatar and Bahrain.
