An elderly tourist who planned to sail along the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Territory on a homemade raft was swept out to sea. He was helped back to shore by rescuers from the Kuban-SPAS detachment.

The incident occurred last weekend. Tuapse rescuers received a message that a man on a makeshift raft was in distress at sea.

It is noted that a pensioner from Krasnodar independently built a raft with a mast and sail and planned to sail across the Black Sea from Dzhubga to Shepsi. However, he was blown away by strong winds, rescuers found him in the open sea 5 km from the coast near Dzhubga.
