Divorce of tourists in Thailand

1. To eat in a good restaurant The bottom line is that a taxi driver or tuk-tuker tells you a good restaurant with very tasty food (in particular fresh seafood) and promises to take you there for ridiculous money. Most agree. The taxi driver really brings you to the restaurant. Everything is really nice there, there are aquariums with seafood, and the prices do not seem wild. That’s where the catch is. All prices are for a small amount of food – 50 or 100 grams. But this is written somewhere in the menu in small print. In general, happy and hungry tourists eat seafood, and then they are billed for a very good amount. It is useless to argue and call the police, since all the conditions are really indicated on the menu.

2. Taxi and tuk-tuk Well, everything is simple here, if you have not agreed in advance on the price of the trip, then at the end of the journey the driver may surprise you very much. Be prepared for this 3. Rent a motorcycle bike You take a motorcycle bike, ride it for a few days, and then you are asked to pay extra for a scratch allegedly made by you. To avoid this, take pictures of the motorbike before you take it and ask to mark the damage in the contract. It also happens that you really scratched or broke something in the motorcycle. And again, the prices for repairs will be unrealistic. To avoid this, specify in advance whether the motorcycle is insured and, if not, how much the possible repair will cost. A useful tip is not to leave documents as collateral. Tell them that you are ready to leave only a copy of your passport or driver’s license. Well, or a cash deposit (in this case, the deposit amount must be specified in the contract). If the owner of the bike refuses, look for another one. It’s the same with renting a car. 4. Ride on the sea on a scooter (jet-sky)You take a scooter for a ride, and when you return, you are required to pay for the damage. If refused, a bunch of Thais come running. A policeman may also come. What can be done. Before renting, take a picture of the scooter again. The time and date should be on the photo. You can ask for a separate indication of the damage on the paper that the owner must sign. If everything has already happened, then you need to call the tourist police to the place, and quickly and without unnecessary conversations. The problem with such a divorce is now being resolved at the highest level – diplomats from many countries have already filed complaints with the police. So the tour police should work clearly. The phone number of the tourist police is 1155 5. Fake stones Under the guise of precious stones, which Thailand and neighboring countries are famous for, they sell you a fake. It is very easy to protect yourself from this. Buy in trusted stores (there are enough reviews) and do not believe in super discounts in the format “cheap for you, like a native”. 6. Feed the pigeons in Bangkok, you are calmly walking with the look of a tourist, a Thai man comes up to you with bags of corn kernels and offers to feed the pigeons and take a picture. The question of how much is answered by 50 Baht. Several small bags of grain are put into your hands, pigeons are fed, and then you find out that this one bag costs 50 Baht, and you have already fed 10 pieces. If payment is refused, screams and threats begin. The police don’t really solve anything here either. So, if you have an irresistible desire to feed pigeons in Bangkok, buy grains at the store 7. “Closed” attractions You go to see the Royal Palace or something similar. A Thai man comes up to you and explains that everything is closed today and offers his “free” tour of nearby working attractions. In fact, you can be taken for a ride to shops and factories where they will try to sell all sorts of goods. Well, if you’re lucky, they’ll really show you some kind of temple. 8. Free shows Nothing is free. That’s why, another draw – when watching the show, you still have to buy expensive drinks. 9. Bars Similar situations may occur in a bar. The easiest way to protect yourself is to ask the price of a drink in advance and pay for each drink separately, without waiting for the bill, where the excess can be entered. It will be very difficult to prove later that you did not order this and it will all be accompanied by a scandal. Of course, this does not apply to verified bars. Bottom line – you should not relax even in Thailand. The same people live here as everywhere else. And the temptation to deceive a gullible and relaxed tourist is extremely great. We hope that no one was scared, and everyone understands that this article was written to warn and help tourists on vacation in Thailand not to spoil their mood.

Данная статья говорит о том, что нужно держать ухо в остро, даже в Таиланде!
