According to Sputnik News, at Yerevan airport, a passenger who arrived in Armenia from Brazil died right in the security area.
It is noted that the incident occurred last week, but the media only found out about it now. During the inspection of passengers on the next international flight, customs officers drew attention to a Brazilian citizen, whose luggage contained a bottle with an unknown liquid.
The man claimed that it was wine, but the customs officers did not believe him. However, instead of sending the liquid for examination, they offered the passenger to try it. The Brazilian readily took a sip and immediately died.
The local authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident. The case is complicated by the fact that in addition to this, an “unknown substance” was found in the belongings of the deceased, which he could have used earlier.
