The Northwestern Federal District is the leader in the share of apartment hotels in the total number of collective tourist accommodation facilities. This conclusion was reached by experts of the Monchegorsk Development Agency, who analyzed the number of apartment hotels in each of the Russian regions and compared them with the total number of hotels, hotels, hostels and other types of tourist infrastructure.
The share of apartment hotels in the subjects of the Northwestern Federal District averages about 4.6%, the highest figure in St. Petersburg, Murmansk and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The Far Eastern Federal District is in second place (3.8%), Primorsky Krai is the leader here. Yuzhny closes the top three federal districts (the share of apart-hotels is 2.2%), mainly due to the Krasnodar Territory, Ingushetia and Dagestan.
“In terms of the share of apartment hotels, the Murmansk region is in the TOP 5 in Russia, but given the growing tourist flow, the market is far from saturated. This becomes especially noticeable during the periods of festivals and sports competitions. In addition, there is a shortage of apartment hotels of the 4* level and above,” says Alexander Polenkov, head of the Business and Investment direction of the Monchegorsk Development Agency.
