On September 5, 2024, an Elephant Museum began operating in the Thai province of Surin. It is part of the State Elephant World project. The place was chosen for him for a reason, because the local Kui people have been living there for a long time, whose representatives are traditionally considered the best elephant trainers.

In the museum, tourists will be able to explore the history of royal, wild and domestic elephants, see a variety of exhibits on the “elephant” theme, visit exhibitions, take pictures with elephants, take a walk in the park with ponds.

As you know, the Surin Elephant Round-Up Festival, founded in 1960, is held annually in November in Surin. During it, guests can watch elephant competitions, participate in games, and master classes.

You can find elephants at any resort in Thailand. Tourists are offered to visit special elephant farms, ride on the back of these huge animals, watch them feeding and bathing.

Previously in The Russian Union of Travel Industry (PCT) said that airlines and tour operators will prefer Thailand to other exotic destinations this winter: they will increase transportation to the kingdom instead of opening direct flights to the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania, for example, because of limited shipping capacity.

According to domestic airlines, the growth of transportation on international routes has reached 23%. This suggests that carriers are restoring flights to open countries, now about 40 countries are available to Russians on direct flights. However, assessing the load, companies decide whether it is advisable to resume some routes. For example, there are no plans to open more flights to Zanzibar, which was one of the first to open to Russians during the pandemic, but it would be better to increase transportation to Thailand, where there is an extensive hotel base.

At the same time, in some countries, due to current restrictions, there is not enough transportation from the Russian Federation. These are, in particular, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Cuba.
