An earthquake has occurred in Fukushima, Japan

TASS reports that an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 occurred in the northeast of Japan — in Fukushima Prefecture.

According to the Japanese National Meteorological Office, the earthquake was felt in seven prefectures of Japan, including Fukushima, Miyagi and Tokyo. A tsunami threat has been declared for the northeast coast of the country.

There was no information about casualties or damage, and it is also unknown about any emergency situations at the shut down emergency Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant.
