A tourist was surprised by cameras on the beach in Hainan – every 50 meters

Туристку удивили на Хайнане камеры на пляже – через каждые 50 метров

A short video shot on the beach of Hainan Island has gone viral on social media. A tourist came with friends to Haitan Bay, located in the southeast, and was surprised to see an abundance of surveillance cameras on the coast – every fifty meters. The video testimony, published at the end of February, has gained millions of views and thousands of responses.

In media comments, 22-year-old Louise also noted that they were not allowed to swim, despite the beautiful weather. As the ATV rescuers explained, there are strong currents in that place and it is dangerous. In general, the reaction of the French student was restrained, she only stated that many things in China differ from her Western culture.

The clip also caused a heated discussion. Some users appreciated the presence of cameras and close attention: this approach makes you feel safe. It would be better to have constant monitoring than to find out that a woman was sexually assaulted while jogging on the beach, the public said. Another added that it was amazing, since you can’t swim in Australia without fearing for the safety of unattended items. A third thought that it would not hurt to introduce such a thing in Brazil.

Opponents said that the authorities should not relentlessly monitor every human step, calling the number of cameras in China frighteningly creepy, and that it all looks like a dystopian nightmare. One of the tourists recalled that the plot evoked memories of a trip to Miami in the USA, where he was surrounded by cameras everywhere. There is such a thing in every community with a low level of trust, they regretfully stated in the chat.

Earlier in the online magazine “TurDom” he told about several beaches in the city of Sanya. Russian tourists most often choose holidays in Dadonghai and Yalong bays, as well as in Sanya Bay.
