A new metro line has opened in Moscow

В Москве открылась новая ветка метро

A new metro line, Troitskaya, has opened in Moscow. It became the 16th branch of the Moscow Metro, and now about 800,000 more residents of the city have metro stations within walking distance.

The first section of the new 8.3 km long line includes four stations: “Innovative”, “Peoples’ Friendship University”, “General Tyulenev” and “Tyutchevskaya”. The total length of the branch line will be more than 43 km, it will have 17 stations.

Stations with clear navigation are equipped with turnstiles, including with the possibility of payment by biometrics, vending machines and ticket terminals. Each station was designed according to an individual project.

The opening of the new site should reduce the load on the Kaluga-Riga and Sokolnicheskaya metro line, as well as adjacent roads — Leninsky Prospekt, Vernadsky Avenue, Trade Union Street and others.
