A new set of rules “Modular buildings and structures. Design Rules” sets requirements for newly erected modular residential buildings up to 75 m high, public buildings up to 50 m high, as well as structures that use separate modules.
The first version of the document has already been posted for public discussion on the Rosstandart website.
“Today, the improvement of design technologies, production and installation equipment, as well as the expansion of the possibilities of transportation and installation of finished products allow us to realize the advantages of factory-made buildings. This, of course, also increases labor productivity, including through standardized work processes, and reduces the time and cost of work,” said Sergey Muzychenko, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing of the Russian Federation.
The document provides a classification of buildings built using factory-ready modules, establishes requirements for accounting for climatic influences, requirements for sound insulation characteristics, the choice of fire resistance and overall dimensions.
The new set of rules also defines requirements for space-planning solutions, transportation and installation of modules, finishing quality, intermodule connections of engineering systems, internal engineering networks and systems.
