By the end of March 2024, 396 complexes were presented on the market of existing suburban accommodation facilities in St. Petersburg and the region. The basis of the offer is multi–format recreation centers, which combine a mix of hotel rooms, individual cottages and glamping, they make up 47% of the total offer. Further, a significant share is occupied by hotels – 26% and cottage complexes – 17%. These are the data of the St. Petersburg Real Estate Consulting Center.
Non–standard accommodation facilities – hut houses, safari tents and geo–domes – accounted for only 10% of the offer. This format has gained popularity in recent years due to the relatively fast construction time, lower construction costs relative to classic accommodation options and high demand from residents. The largest representatives of the glamping format are the projects “Maitri Camp” in the Vyborg district of the Leningrad region, “Northern Crimea” in the Luga district and Shanti Ozero in the Priozersk district, each of which presents more than 20 accommodation facilities.
In 2023, the market of suburban recreational complexes was replenished with at least 5 new facilities. The largest of them are the recreation center “O’ pushkahoise” in the Priozersk district, the cottage complex “Owl Glass Creek” in the Vsevolozhsky district and the country hotel ViewGaForest SPA in the Vyborg district of the Leningrad region.
In February 2024, the average rate in country hotels of the 3-star category and below was 3.8 thousand rubles/day on weekdays, on weekends – 4.3 thousand rubles/day for a standard double room. As for recreation in 4 and 5 star facilities, the average rate was 10 thousand rubles/day on weekdays and 12.4 thousand rubles/day on weekends for a hotel room.
The average rate for renting a classic cottage was at the level of 11 thousand rubles/day on weekdays. On weekends, the average rate is higher – 14.3 thousand rubles/day per cottage.
The cost of rest in glamping was 6.8 thousand rubles / day on weekdays and 9.2 thousand rubles / day on weekends for a cottage or other detached accommodation facility. The highest rates were presented in the MytreeCamp and ForestLake glamping sites located on the shores of reservoirs. The average cost of living in them was 12-16 thousand rubles /day, depending on the day of the week and the accommodation facility.
“Recreational projects are actively developing in the region, during which new formats for recreation are being created, public spaces are being improved, new points of attraction for tourists are being created. Country holidays in St. Petersburg are supported not only by the local population, but also by tourists from other regions who combine various excursions with visits to recreational places in our region. The variety of leisure activities will continue to be one of the main advantages in the upcoming season – equipment rental, sauna rental, restaurant visits, etc. – all this will be fully provided by suburban facilities in St. Petersburg and the region,” said Svetlana Moskovchenko, head of the Project management Department at the St. Petersburg Real Estate Consulting Center.
