Demand for preferential mortgages for new buildings increased in February after a January drop

The volume of preferential mortgages for new buildings increased by 20.8% over the past month after an almost fivefold drop in this indicator was recorded in January 2024 relative to the level of December 2023.

This follows from the materials of Dom.rf, which were studied by TASS.

So, in February 2024, 16 thousand loans were issued under the preferential program for new buildings for 69.4 billion rubles, which is almost 21.7% higher in number and 20.8% in volume than in January 2024. Compared to February 2023, 10% fewer contracts were issued under this program and 20% fewer contracts.

In general, for all state mortgage programs, loans in February increased by 10.3% in number – to almost 41.2 thousand contracts and by 11.1% in total value – to 213 billion rubles. Compared to February 2023, the number of contracts decreased by almost 3.8%, but the total volume increased by 1.2%.
