Officials have come up with a new clever way to take money from the population.
This time it is connected with an increase in electricity tariffs, and all this is done, of course, exclusively “in the interests of citizens.” MN was looking into what it was and whether the utilities would be able to get into the pocket of consumers again.
Modern life likes to throw surprises at us, especially in everyday terms. So the businessmen from the long-suffering Russian housing and communal services can not calm down in any way: they want more and more profits, and the legislation limits their appetites. For example, antimonopoly officials proposed, starting from January 1, 2024, to set a new electricity tariff for the regions, which will be differentiated depending on the volume of consumption. The scheme is, in fact, elementary: the more electricity is used, the higher the tariff will be.
Although, if you think about it, the main market law is violated here – with increased (wholesale, for example) purchase volumes, the price of goods decreases. Why the reverse mechanism is turned on in the case of electricity is a mystery. Well, it’s just that, apparently, someone wants to take more cream off the population, as already mentioned. And appeals to miners who consume a huge amount of electricity are untenable – these citizens can quite be caught and set personal, so to speak, tariffs for them.
Many have already forgotten, but in the 90s in the Russian Federation there was a so-called cross-subsidization of the population when paying for electricity consumption. Then enterprises paid extra for people, then small businesses began to pay extra. And so the government demands to return the correct calculation, and who of the municipalities does not want to introduce consumption standards – the municipal budget will most likely have to pay extra to energy tycoons himself.
The Russian Housing Union has already estimated that as a result of all manipulations in the Russian Federation, utility bills will increase by about 15-16%. If this is the case, then we will see and feel a fairly sharp increase in utility bills on our family budgets, and this will happen in the near future.
In fact, there is a game of terms, because they have already tried to introduce this most normative consumption, giving people 50 or 100 kilowatts per month at a regulated tariff in theory. And everything else that went beyond the bar should have doubled in price. Today it is called a differentiated tariff. But no matter how you name the promotion and deception, they will not stop harming people from this: What’s on the forehead, what’s on the forehead…
