The transportation of liquids is again prohibited at European airports

В европейских аэропортах опять запрещают провоз жидкостей

European officials do not trust modern scanners and decided to limit the transportation of liquids with a volume of more than 100 milliliters in hand luggage again, the Schengen.news edition reports. Passengers traveling on European airlines flights can take no more than 100 milliliters of liquids, including gel cans, into the cabin. The new rules are effective from September 1, 2024. Despite the fact that the ban is temporary and is associated with the need for “further improvement of new checkpoint systems,” the date of its cancellation is not called.

Recall that recently, more and more airports located in different countries of the world have stated that new scanners, encouraged by various supervisory authorities, allow for a thorough check of all liquids from passengers’ hand luggage, so there is no need to prohibit carrying large containers in the cabin of aircraft. Thus, restrictions have already been lifted in the air harbors of Helsinki (Finland), Tallinn (Estonia), Frankfurt (Germany), Rome (Italy – Fiumicino Airport) and Milan (Italy – Malpensa Airport). Now the airports are very unhappy with the decision and lament that they wasted money on expensive equipment.
