It is clarified that a 64-year-old Chinese American, Yubo Miao, boarded a plane flying from Chicago to San Diego with two bags of luggage and a lunch box with food. He loaded all this onto the upper luggage rack, but the flight attendant was outraged and asked to put food under the front seat. In his lawsuit, Miao stated that the European passenger was allowed to leave food on the luggage rack. He considered this case to be racial discrimination and demanded $100,000 from the airline as compensation for moral damage.
