Syria has introduced electronic visas for tourists, including Russians. This was reported to TASS at the embassy of the Middle Eastern country in Moscow.

The diplomatic mission confirmed the information on the introduction of electronic visas from May 1. They stressed that it will be possible to apply online on the appropriate platform, without being present at the embassy or consulate.

It is specified that the documents will be considered within 72 hours.

Earlier, Sri Lanka extended the regime of granting free visas to tourists from Russia and six other countries. The measure was extended indefinitely, but it is still unclear whether entry documents will be free for Russians forever.
