Chinese Hainan took the fourth place in the rating of cheap holidays for Russian tourists in August, behind Anapa, Sochi and Abkhazia.
The Chinese island of Hainan is somewhat similar to Turkey and is particularly popular among residents of the Far East, said Dmitry Arutyunov, CEO of Art Tour, but there is a nuance.
“There are only a few coves on Hainan where you can swim. Many good hotels are located on the seashore, but swimming is not allowed there. There are reasons for this, there are very large waves there, and 90% of Chinese people do not know how to swim. If everyone is allowed to swim in such waves, then there will be ten corpses a day. Therefore, such restrictions are serious. Hotel residents are often taken to other bays where they can swim,” he told NSN.
The expert noted that the cheap hotels in Hainan are not located on the seashore. “The 110 thousand tour implies just such an accommodation option. More expensive hotels are comparable in price to European resorts. It is difficult to fight with Thailand, for example, too, there is a much larger selection of hotels there,” he noted.
As previously reported by the Free Press, according to Sergey Romashkin, ATOR Vice President for Domestic tourism, the average cost of a summer tour in Sochi reaches 105 thousand rubles, while Anapa may be even more expensive — in the region of 109 thousand.
