Russians told how much they are willing to pay per month for a mortgage

More than a third of Russians are willing to pay no more than 20 thousand rubles on a mortgage. More than two thirds of Russians are ready to pay no more than 40 thousand rubles per month on a mortgage loan

More than a third (37%) Russians who have already taken out or are planning to take out a mortgage loan are ready to pay up to 20 thousand rubles per month. Such data are provided in a joint study by analysts of the Avito Real Estate and Avito Work platforms, which was received by the editorial board. More than 7 thousand respondents took part in the survey.

Another 32% of respondents are ready to pay on a mortgage loan from 20 thousand to 40 thousand rubles. The third place was taken by the option from 40 thousand to 60 thousand rubles, it was named by 11% of respondents.

For 5% of Russians, a comfortable mortgage payment ranges from 60 thousand to 80 thousand rubles per month, 3% are ready to give 80-100 thousand rubles, and another 6% can pay more than 100 thousand rubles per month. 6% of respondents found it difficult to answer.

The study notes that representatives of the automotive business are most willing to pay for a mortgage per month — on average 79 thousand rubles per month. This is followed by representatives of marketing, advertising and PR (75 thousand rubles), IT and telecommunications (54 thousand rubles) and online commerce (51 thousand rubles).

Earlier, CIAN analysts estimated that the overpayment on a mortgage loan taken for the purchase of a typical apartment on the secondary market after the Central Bank increases the key rate to 18% will increase from 3.6 times to 4 times. The largest monthly payment among million-plus cities at a rate of 18% per annum will be in Moscow — 224.8 thousand rubles. St. Petersburg takes the second place – 145.6 thousand rubles. The top five also included Kazan (118.2 thousand rubles), Nizhny Novgorod (99.4 thousand rubles) and Krasnodar (90.6 thousand rubles). 

According to the United Credit Bureau (OKB), in June 2024, the volume of mortgage issuance outstripped all other types of loans in Russia. In monetary terms, the share of mortgages in June was 42%. Cash loans are in second place with a share of 33%, and credit cards are in third place (15%).
