The flow of Russian tourists to European countries increased by 8.5 percent last year. The data was calculated at Megafon based on anonymized data from roaming subscribers.
“The tourist flow to Europe increased by 8.5% in 2024 compared to 2023,” Megafon said. It is specified that Bulgaria, Romania and Estonia showed the largest increase over the year — 26-38%.
At the same time, the operator found out that the flow of Russians to Finland fell by 53% over the year, to Sweden — by 24%, and to Denmark — by 11%, RIA Novosti writes.
According to the Russian Express, the demand for holidays in Europe doubled in 2024 compared to 2023. “The leaders in the rating of the tour operator’s customer preferences are still Italy (0.6% of the total sales of the company for the analyzed period), France (0.4%), Greece (0.3%), Spain (0.2%), Hungary (0.1%).
According to the tour operator, the number of bookings in 2024 to Italy increased by 125%, France — by 145%, Greece — by 100%, Spain — by 126%, Hungary — by 207%.
