Rent of one-room apartments rose in April in 44 major cities of Russia. On the contrary, it has fallen in price in another 25 localities.
The strongest increase in rental rates occurred in Chita (+13%), Grozny (+12%), Sochi (+10%), Ulyanovsk (+9%) and Saransk (+8%). The largest drop was noted in Novosibirsk (-11%), Kirov (-11%) and Belgorod (-8%).
According to RIA Novosti, one—bedroom rentals in Moscow fell by 0.8%, in the Moscow region — by 0.7%, in St. Petersburg – by 1.6%.
“The increasing unavailability of buying an apartment in ownership for the majority of the country’s population, as well as the change of seasons, are pushing rental rates to increase. On the eve of summer, many people who have the opportunity to work remotely are changing their region of residence,” said Pavel Lutsenko, CEO of Mir Apartments.
Earlier, the Free Press wrote that in Mortgage issuance in Russia has fallen by almost 40 percent.
