Investments in this project are being evaluated and feasibility studies are being developed.
The routes of the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) will be extended to 11 regions of the Central Transport Hub (CTA). This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin.
“Today we see that there is a need to extend the IDC to all major regional capitals. Therefore, Moscow, together with Russian Railways, together with the government, is working on further extension of these railway routes to 11 cities,” RIA quotes Khusnullin as saying.
The Deputy Prime Minister also noted that feasibility studies of the project are currently being developed, as well as the costs of it are being estimated.

Moscow central diameters are ground routes of electric trains through the center of the capital. They allow direct access to the other end of the capital or to a city near Moscow in the opposite direction from the capital. The MDC will connect 45 metropolitan areas and six major cities of the Moscow region.
In early 2024, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the construction of a new Petrovsko-Razumovskaya railway station in the north of Moscow. It will combine metro, MCD-1, MCD-3 and ground transportation, and will also accept high-speed trains from St. Petersburg.
