A Volgograd resident lost his inherited apartment due to his mother’s debt of 80 thousand rubles.
A resident of Volgograd is trying to return the apartment through the court, which was sold at auction by bailiffs. The apartment previously belonged to his deceased mother.
The woman died in 2021. The debt on the credit card she used was 160 thousand by that time. The heir made payments from time to time and has already managed to pay off half of the debt. He was going to live in an apartment that he inherited, as well as his mother’s credit debts. He had only 80 thousand rubles to pay.
However, in June 2024, large transfers unexpectedly arrived to his account: first 1 million rubles, then almost 1.5 million more. So the Volgograd resident found out that the apartment, to which he had all the rights as the heir of the first stage, was put up for auction because of the debt on his mother’s credit card.
It was acquired “by a lucky chance” by a former bailiff. Moreover, I bought an apartment for only 2.5 million rubles, although the market price of this housing starts from 4 million rubles.
According to the Volgograd resident, he has not received any written notifications that the housing has been arrested and will be sold. As it turned out later, the notification was sent to the public services portal, which the man does not use.
The Volgograd resident intends to return the apartment, has already written statements to the prosecutor’s office and the Investigative Committee. The investigation into this incident is conducted by the State Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Volgograd region.
