Abkhazia has a law that prohibits appearing in public places half-naked, and violators face fines. This was stated by the President of the Abkhazian Tourism Union Anna Kalyagina.
“Of course, it’s not very pleasant to see people in their underwear in shops, in public places outside beaches, outside swimming pools. I think it’s not very comfortable for the tourists themselves either. In addition, it is not customary for men to go shirtless and in shorts, these are the traditions of the Abkhazians,” Kalyagina said in an interview with NSN.
According to her, every country has its own traditions, so anyone who allows himself to violate them will cause outrage.
Earlier it was reported that due to the oil spill and the ban on swimming, Anapa’s beaches were closed, which led to a 50% drop in tourist traffic.
