Tunisia has been introducing a tourist tax since November 1, now travelers will need to pay an additional 1-3.5 euros per day, depending on the hotel category.
Oleg Kozyrev, marketing director of the Travelata online tour store, told RIA Novosti that Tunisia has been introducing a tourist tax for organized tourists since November 1. The tax will be levied on organized tourists from the age of 12. So, in a two—star hotel, the fee will be 1.18 euros per person per day, in a three-star hotel – 2.36 euros, in hotels with four or five stars — 3.54 euros per day. The funds raised from tourists are supposed to be used to cover the costs of products and services in the tourism industry.
“For example, a trip for two to Tunisia for seven nights costs about 200 thousand rubles, and if the fee is 2-3 thousand rubles, then this will not be a determining factor for choosing a trip. So far there are no direct flights to this country, so the demand is quite low,” Kozyrev said.
Earlier, SP wrote that China decided to facilitate the provision of payment services for travelers arriving in the country from abroad.
