Dozens of bird carcasses were found after an Emirates airline plane collided with a flock of flamingos. This is reported by the Hindustan Times.
According to the source, an emergency situation occurred on Monday, May 20, with an aircraft flying from Mumbai, India, to Dubai, UAE. There were 310 passengers on board.
Forestry officials reported that 36 flamingo carcasses were found in the Ghatkopara area of Mumbai, where the collision occurred. The airport authorities confirmed the information about the incident.
According to the newspaper, all the circumstances of the incident are being investigated. According to local ecologist D. Stalin, the birds could have been disoriented by power lines laid recently.
In February, an Alaska Airlines flight attendant saved the eggs of rare flamingos during a flight. After the unit that kept the future chicks warm stopped working, the flight attendant put the eggs in rubber gloves filled with warm water and covered them with warm clothes.
